Red Wave Radio

I am using solder covered copper braid for my coax ground from a
screwdriver antenna to the vehicle frame.  It is a simple
metal-to-metal, bolted connection.  How can I enhance the connection
and prevent corrosion.  I am thinking of something like Penatrox for
aluminum or PolyPhaser's copper joint compound for copper, except
would work on bare steel.  Any ideas?

Not sure really. I did this recently on my old truck. I used flat
copper strap from the bed, body, etc, to the frame. I had a lot of
crud on the frame, so after I drilled the holes for the strap, I took
off the crud with a wire wheel on a drill. That got me down to clean
metal. At that time I just bolted the strap to the frame as tight as I
could get it, and sprayed black paint over the whole area to cover
where I buffed down to metal. I know thats not going to help my copper
to frame connection, but I'll worry about that later I guess. I can
always clean and rebuff..I'll see what ideas you get on that.. MK

Just clean the connecting surfaces, tighten the***and spray it over or use
hot melt glue to cover the connection, and you will be OK for many years to
come.

Ask your neighborhood muffler shop to make the connection with their
welder.  Corrosion proof and ensures good contact.

Disconnect the antenna from the radio first... :-)
