KW E-Zee Z-match ?

KW E-Zee Z-match ?

Post by J-M Noedin » Tue, 22 Apr 1997 04:00:00

Hi
I have tested my matcher on HF bands and found it useful on the bands as
hown below. Reading 10 - minimum(CCW), 100 maximum (CW) on each
capacitors
80m  70/100 with trap dipol adjusted to minimum VSWR
40m  18/60
30m  N/A
20m  56/35
17m  22/100
15m  12/28
12m  N/A
10m  20/18
capacitor settings may be different for different impedance, but at
least - with my antenna it was possible operate on the bands where
figures are quoted. Wonder if anybody has similar experience with using
z-match and that it will not work satisfactorily on some bands?  On some
bands it is very tedious to tune to minimum VSWR. I use a two instrument
set-up - one for FWD and one for REFlected relative power.

I have 2 version of the KW E-Zee match. One has the SWR meter & Power meter
built in, the other is just the matching unit. I run a "G5RV" antenna fed with
450 ohm ladder line, which goes directly into the tuner.

Like you, I have been able to let the transmitter see a 1:1 SWR on all bands
(except 160!). And, the dial settings on both of my units are fairly close to
each other at minimum SWR.

I like the KW units.
