Diane, I've heard good and bad. I have had one for three years. I
believe it is the older model. It was set up when I bought it 26-32mhz.
I usually stay close to the 40 legal freqz. Its been bounced in and out
of different vehicles on a daily basis(hell and back). I love it.
Ripcord.

I don't use anything else in my car,had 2510's and hard to see any
controls, and is a lot easier to operate than a 2510,these are my
opinions due to 6 yrs experence and more with 2510's..and I am not
opening up or wish to argue any points with anyone who reads this
msg,am just not interested 73

That depends on what you want...

Frequency Range....the 2950 would be my choice.

SSB capabilities and receiver sensitivity...the Uniden GRANT!

Big sounding AM signal...the Uniden PC-76XL (or PC-66XL)!

The 2950 is not a bad radio, but it falls short in a few areas...but, I tend
to be a purist; that is to say that I want only the BEST!  I'm buying a
PC-76XL!

2950 has a few idiosyncrisies that I don't like, but we all have our
favorites.  I prefer the Galaxy Mirage 88, but considering it is
manufactured by the same people that make the 2950...I guess one would
have to go with their heart!  Do not go 2510 however.  Also, I heard
some scuttle***that RCI will be going out of business...the got
pinched by the FCC....anyone else heard about this?

I woild prefer the President Lincoln, to the RCI Radios, although they
are still excellent rigs.  The Lincoln Mk2, with an Astatic Silver
Eagle mic sounds 100%.  Recieve is excellent on all modes.

My two cents worth is get something like a cobra 148 with a super talk
modulation kit and it'll blow a 2950 away...way over rated are the
2950's

My Personal choice would be a President Lincoln Mk2, for recieve
(excellent on all emmissions), and frequency - 26.000Mhz - 30.000Mhz

The RCI 2950 is a good radio, but I prefer the President
Lincoln/Uniden 2830 or President George for RX+TX
