Radio Shack am/ssb radio

Radio Shack am/ssb radio

Hi All

I am reposting this request because some of you said you maybe able to help
me but didn't have the time last week to look.

I have owned many radios over the past 30 years and have found pictures
of all of them on the net except 1. I can't remember the Radio Shack model
number but I would know it to see it. It was a 40 Ch SSB mobile with an all
black face. It was all push button, (no rotary CH selector). It had 40 Ch
scan and channel change on the microphone. It only ran for about 1 year in
1980 or 1981. It had many problems and was not a good radio. Every time you
turned it off it went back to Ch-1 and had a bad frequency drift so I only
had it for about 2 months and traded it in for an other model. If any of you
can remember the radio and come up with a model number it would be
appreciate. I check this NG regularly so if you could just post it here.
Thanks

That model # sounds familiar. It was such a bad radio that RS doesn't even
list it on their web-site. Thanks for the info.
