When he received the second radio just a couple of weeks ago the meter
was broken and the radio oscillated on am something awful. I recommended
he send that back and get his money back. Instead he told them that if
they would send him a Washington he would pay the difference.
My wife talked to one of the people at H&Y and she told my wife she
needed authorization to do that. Last Wed. they contacted her and told
her the washington would be shipped the day after Thanksgiving with a
bill for the difference. Yesterday during a telephone conversation
between Mike and their so called Supervisor named George, this guy
started hollering at Mike telling him that he replaced the radio they
sent them with an old one, and that they would never sell a radio in
such condition. And that they were billing him for 50% of the radio
value for restocking charges.
I picked the radio up from the shipper and was present when Mike
packaged that very radio up the day he got it to send it back. Never
heard of such a thing.
Mike is one of our local radio emergency team members and communications
is needed to function.
A company like this should be investigated. I know our attorney generals
office is going to check out this practice.
I contacted Copper Electronics and received a reply that they are not in
any way affiliated with these frauds due to the fact alot of people
especially distributors said they owned the company.
Sounds like grounds for court action I guess. These people do not need
to exist in the communications world.
