MIRAGE 2950 VS. RCI 2950

MIRAGE 2950 VS. RCI 2950

I own a Mirage 2950, and it does get 24-30MHZ by moving a jumper, which
also makes the display switchable to show the cb channels.  It does not put
out 40 watts, and even though it could probably be tuned to do it, I
wouldn't take the chance.  I have mine set at 11 watts, it sounds good with
an echo mike, and I can talk to everyone that I can hear, so I am very
satisfied with it.  As far as the board, I am told that it is the same as
the new version of the RCI, but I have never seen inside an RCI.

Is the Mirage and RCI the same or different, if so witch one is the
better? The info I have seen on the Mirage say's  it covers 24MHZ-30MHZ
and has 40 watt output. Is this a updated version with the mods already?
I have had a RCI 2950 in the past and loved it. Any insight on the
Mirage would be greatly apreciated before I buy a new radio.
                            with thanks,

I would stick with the 2950, what do you need to go to 24Mhz for anyway.
At least with the rci the tech support will be there and it is a company
that has a well established name
