If they are similar to any of the other Motorola products 160 Mhz is
either at the top of the band or the bottom. If memory serves me
correctly Motorola products run in 3 groupings for VHF 136-150, 150 to 162
and 162 to 174. I am not familiar with the 300's but don't be surprised
if this is the case. You would have to rebuild the radio from scratch to
get it to work. I look after comms for the local Red Cross branch and
they are at 162 Mhz and I have had to pass on a lot of free Motorola gear
because it was from the lower groupings.
