Hello. I don't believe I will be playing much with 2 mtr ssb here, so I am
going to offer up my 245's. What I have is one with the ssb/cw module and one
without. The SSB unit has AGC fast or slow/ cw tune/rec., Noise blanker,
Variable tuning speed, and ssb/cw or FM switch. Also has RIT switch and
variable control for it. The one with the ssb module.... Does have a couple
glitches. The normal/reverse switch gets sorta stuck in the middle of it's
travel but with a slight push it will click into the other position and work
fine. The other glitch is when it is cold the display will not show up. When
warm it works OK. These units where made with a dual brightness setup for the
display. It works fine all modes. Just a few nights ago had a great chat with a
guy on ssb about 300 miles from here up in Oklahoma with it. In good condition.
The non ssb/cw unit works fine also. It is missing one of the outer toggles for
the normal/reverse switch, but the shaft sticks out enough to use it just fine.
This also in good shape. This one has had a mod done to it which is noted and
included with the original manual. It is for a continuous 5 volts to the
display, which stays brighter all the time eleiminating the problem in the
other I would imagine. Also If I recall correctly an ex owner has replaced the
final audio out chip...works fine. They both have the original mics and power
cords. They have been at my station here for over a year and not used much.
And again, an original instruction manual in very good condition is included.
Also have a Very nice blown up copy of the schematics and block diagrams of the
rig and the SSB unit. The SSB/CW unit can quite easily be removed and put on
the other radio if desired.
Would consider a swap...I need a pretty nice 2 mtr ht, also could use another
decent 2 mtr fm mobile. And do enjoy older tube transcievers and project
radios, both tube and solid state that have some hope. Or what might you have
sitting there never being powered up?
If interested let me know and maybe we can do a swap.
OR make a fair offer for these. They are headed to Ebay after this....Feel free
to check my feedback there. Thanks for reading,
WM5M
