Does anyone have a balanced modulator kit or info on the mod for the
National NCX-5 Transceiver?  It replaces the 7360 tube.

The original NCX-5 used a 7360 beam-switching tube as the
transmit-side balanced modulator.  Apparently it was not the
best design as they soon came out with a plug-in mod kit.  I think
it had a simple doubly-balanced diode modulator, plus a
tube on top for some extra gain.  The mod was a 1.5x1.5x1.5
inch box which plugged right into the 7360 socket.  The
old carrier balance control became a carrier injection control.
The module itself had a small carrier balance pot and cap
adjustment.

If you dont have the module the 7360's are still available but
at a low double-digit price.
