Live Daytona 500 Driver/Crew Scanner Comms Update!

Live Daytona 500 Driver/Crew Scanner Comms Update!

Post by George » Fri, 07 Feb 2003 08:19:02

February 16 is the Daytona 500 NASCAR Race.  As many of you know last
year I had setup a few scanners to broadcast the live Driver/Crew and
NASCAR Officials communications during the Race.  Over the last two
years Ive done 2 Pepsi 400s and last years Daytona 500 with great
success.

Once again I plan on doing the same thing, this year with some
improvements.   With the addition of several scanners and an audio mixer
board Ill be able switch between the most interesting communications
much faster than before.

However I can use your HELP!   Im looking for the most current list of
NASCAR Crew Scanner Frequencies.   I currently have last years list but
would like to find something more up to date.  Please post an URL if you
know of one.

For the next few days Ill be broadcasting live Airport, Military comms
and/or Daytona Beach Police comms.  This will give you a chance to view
my website and make sure youll be able to receive the live comms before
the race starts.   To start a live broadcast simply go to
http://www.MilAirComms.com, look for the heading LIVE AUDIO! Daytona
Beach, FL and click on the Start Audio link.   During last years
races we had nearly 200 simultanious listeners and the system performed
well.

As the race date gets closer Ill have more updates.

Thanks
George

Are you planning on broadcasting comms for the race only, or is there a
chance you might be talked into doing it for practice/happy hour/qualifying,
Twin 125's, etc?

(BTW, Thanks a million for doing this again this year.  I, for one, really
really appreciate it.)

I'll probably be doing some of the other races if nothing else to make
sure the equipment is working and I have good frequencies.  I'll have
more on this next week during SpeedWeek....

Live Daytona 500 Driver/Crew Scanner Comms Update!

Will anyone be rebroadcasting (live) the 500 in the Finger Lakes
region of NY? It would be great to pull out my scanner at the lodge of
Bristol MT after a big day of skiing and listen to the drivers/pits
while watching the race on the big screen. If someone out there can
help it would be greatly appreciated.
