Red Wave Radio

I am looking for information on the Uniden MR8100A Scanner. I have recently
purchased this scanner and like it because of the alphanumerics. It does
cover 800 mghtx but only holds 100 channels and must be programed for
alphanumerics by hooking it up to computers serial port. Has anyone attempted
to modify this scanner to have the ability to search up and down frequencies?
If anyone has information on mods for this scanner please Email me. Also  what s
stores are selling these and what is the going street price on these?

Scanner world says they are the only one selling the MR8100. Get a copy of
PopComm or Monitoring Times and check the classifieds for books with mods.
You could also try Communication Electronics 900# and see if they know of
any mods. Best I can do.

I remember reading that this model does not have a search feature....

There is a program called Scan Star written by Sam Dunham that handles the
8100.  I think ScanCat may also do it.  Check out Monitoring Times or Popular
Communications for the ads.
