I recently picked up a new PRO-2006. I am interested in the various
methods people on the net program their scanners for flexibility and
maximum coverage of important frequencies.

It's really whatever you like.  Mine, I've got a channel bank with
law enforcement, one for fire, a couple for aircraft, cb frequencies,
one with TV and FM radio audio, some radiotelephone, military, and
commercial services, and even a group of frequencies that just let
me search up and down from certain points.
It really just depends, what interests you, what's in your area that
you can listen to, and the channel capacity of your scanner.

I also have a 2006; I have split my banks by region and service, since I'm
mostly interested in Fire/EMS/PD.  I have also reserved some for local
rail and aircraft.  Since I'm in California, I also have banks reserved
for Office of Emergency Services freqs, CA Dept of Forestry, USFS.

Sounds like a good strategy to me.  Is NCPD still on the 400MHz
band or have they switched up to 800 yet?  Let me know which
preceint(sp?) you are near.  I used to live in the 4th.
