Opto Scout and OS456 Question

Opto Scout and OS456 Question

I REALLY need your advice before I rush off and
buy the wrong thing.

Can you use the CIV port on the OS456 to move
frequencies collected by an Opto Scout Model 40
into the PC that is connected to the OS456?

Has anyone done this?

..Gary

Yes.  It can be done.  I'm using WaveLinks from Percon Corp which
will do the download.  I've got one of the first OS456 boards made so I had
to add a jumper on the OS456 board.

I called Opto and they said they made a change on later boards.  With a
little direction from Opto I was able to do the mod myself.  I can't recall
exactly where the jumper goes, but if you have a later model OS456 or
call Opto for the mod, you can download the data.  The jumper simply
passes data from the RS-232 port to the C-IV port.
