Hay just came from Universal's website and Icom is coming out with a new
scanner the R20 it covers from 150 khz to 3304.999 Mhz in all modes. Also
1000 memories and IC recorder that can record for up to 4 hours and it uses
a lithium ion battery but no price yet

I saw this on a web site, with a price, but I can't find it now.  Possibly
the FCC made them pull the price, because it hasn't been approved for import
to the U.S. yet.  As I recall, the price was around $595.00.

I think the R20 is too little, too late.  In an earlier post, I criticized
it for not having trunking and/or digital capability.  I was quickly
corrected by a few, that pointed out; "It is a professional communications
receiver, not a scanner".  Which is another way of saying, it's an
overpriced, under featured scanner.

Granted, it does have wider band coverage than the typical "police scanner",
and SSB, but so does the Icom IC-R10, the Alinco DJ-X10T, and DJ-X200T, as
well as the Yaesu VR-500, and AOR AR8200 Mark III B.
