I am trying to determine whether the ~$600 Yupiteru MVT-7100 is worth the extra money
over the ~$400 AOR AR1000XLT for a person that is not interested in listening to
single side band. I realize that the Yupiteru has a much better user interface,
but the AOR is fairly easy to use with some practice and the help of Howard
Bornstein's (sp?) Guide to the AR1000. The sensitivity specs of the AR1000XLT
seem to be better than the Yupiteru in most frequency ranges. How do these units
compare in selectivity and in strong signal areas (dynamic range)? Any other
areas of performance where the Yupiteru is clearly superior?

The Yupiteru is notoceably more sensitive across the board. You fill find,
often, that the spec sheets from AOR are rather optimistic. If I didn't
need sideband, I'd look at the Yupiteru MVT-7000 which is the older model.

Hellow out there. I was just wondering I am going to be in the
market for a scanner later on this year. I was wondering if
there is any scanner retailer who would sell me an mvt7100 in
Adelaide south australia. I am not sure whether to go for that
one or the aor 1000 xlt which I think I can get seckond hand as
