How is the MVT-9000 better than the MVT-7100? Is it really worth the
price difference? I would be interested in comparisons. Thanks!!!!

I have owned both, and I would have to say performance wise, the 7100 is
identical to the 9000.  Looks wise, the 9000 has a better display with alot
more details (alpha tagging, etc).  The 9000 has a bandscope, where the
7100 does not.  The 9000 has 15k and 30k steps (good for 150mhz business
and 800mhz cellular scanning respectively) where the 7100 does not.  The
9000 also has bank link scanning (can program a combination of any of the
banks to scan) where the 7100 does not (can scan only up to 4 banks at a
time).  If you plan to do alot of searching, I would get the 9000.  If you
plan to do more programmed scanning, you can't go wrong with the 7100.
