        I've add support for the R8500, R7000 and R10 in this version.
R7100 support is there, but is untested (I'm told that the address is
the same for the 7100 as it is for the 7000).

        The package also includes the tutorial I posted to the net, a
few days ago.

Can any one help me, program  trunkstations into my new Pro 90? I'm
confused. I thought it was just a matter of putting in frequency's, but
once again I'm wrong. Those poor folks at radio shack didnt know how to
help me. So I turn to you. Has any one figured it out.

To program the Pro-90:

I live in Birmingham, Al as example.  There is a little booklet which
came with the radio.
In the book is listed the 2 trunk systems in Jefferson county.

Pick a bank, example bank 0.  Now, program all the frequencies of the
trunking system
into this bank.  once you have this done, press the "trunk" button.  The
display will blank
and the bank digits at the top of the display will blink.   Press the
number of the bank you
wish to "trunk scan".  Press the "0"  button.  If there is a "carrier"
present, the scanner will
lock onto it.  When it does, press the "srch" button.  Now, the scanner
will lock onto the
first signal it comes to.  If you want to track a conversation, press
the hold button.  You
will notice that the "number" or trunk id has been locked.  Now, when
one of the persons
transmitting unkeys, the radio will "follow" the conversation to
whatever frequency they
turn-up on.

If you live in an area which does not use the "default" type of motorola
trunking, you may
have to manually determine the system by trial and error (instructions
in booklet).  Fortunately for me, Birmingham uses the default system,
and the scanner works flawlessly.

Let me know if you get your scanner working....it's a really good unit
regardless of the
trunking feature....

Can you be more specific about the trunking frequencies you
are trying to program? Have you read the manual thoroughly?
The Pro-90 can only track Motorola trunked systems. It cannot
track E.F. Johnson or GE/Ericcson systems.

Here are some tips.

1) All trunking frequencies must be programmed in the trunking
   mode. Press trunk and hold until it beeps twice. Then select
   the bank you want to program, then program each frequency
   in the system in that bank up to 30 frequencies.

2) You must have the control channel programmed. All frequencies
   in the system must be entered.

3) When the frequencies are programmed, press search and the
   scanner will search for the control channel. When it finds
   the control channel, the display will show a status bar for
   each frequency in use including the control channel.

Have you gotten this far yet?

If not, review programming instructions and confirm the frequencies
you have are valid and complete.

If you program frequencies in from the booklet, and you don't hear
anything or the scanner can't find the control channel, the system
may not yet be operational. I have found this to be the case with
several systems in my area that are licensed but not yet in use.

You MUST program your trunknng freq's when in "trunking" mode! That is,
first press the "trunk" button and keep it pressed for about 2 seconds
(until you hear two beeps) THEN choose a bank, then  program in all the
frequencies. If you enter the frequencies in regular mode, the radio will
not track the system!
