PR:Decision made for RadioShack attempt to stop ScanShack trademark registration

PRESS RELEASE: The battle started over two years ago when attorneys from
Radio Shack Corp attempted to block the registration of the ScanShack trade
mark. Radio Shack Corp is known for going after those who try to trade mark
a name with the word "shack" in it. Numerous companies have tried their luck
in legal battles against the corporate giant, but few have come out winners.
There has been some give and take, but Radio Shack Corp did not want to give
at all with the ScanShack trade mark. They filed their opposition with the
trade mark board and requested extensions.
In a decision made by the trade mark board on August 13th 2002, after two
years of motions, ScanShack is now a registered trade mark.
The ScanShack web site will again be accessible in the near future.
The web site was the first home for "The Adventures of Scanner Dweeb" comic
strip, now seen monthly in Popular Communications magazine.
(ScanShack is a registered trade mark.)

Reminds me of a legal battle years ago. Little flower shop in Cleveland had
the name "This Bud's for You". Three guesses who jumps down their throats to
get the name changed. Kicker was, the flower shop had the name BEFORE the
advertising slogan, BUT Budweiser had copyrighted it. Haven't had one of
their beers since.......

Congratulations.  Anything that goes against Radio Shack is a good thing.
