by I currently have a RS Pro-93 trunking scanner and I'm testing a DJ-X10. Due
to its wider coverage and broadcast AM & FM I thought it would be a nice
addition to the Pro-93.
However, I'm finding out that the broadcast AM is NOT there with the stock
antenna and only passable with the RS whip #20-006A. I'm also having
mediocre results on SW compared to my RS DX-398. In the other bands not
covered by the Pro-93, there seems to be very little to listen to as well.
Is this due to my incompetence with the DJ-X10 or is this typical of wide
band receivers? Where should I look to find more stuff not covered by the
Pro-93?
Is the DJ-X2000 significantly better than the DJ-X10 when it comes to
reception, especially broadcast AM and SW? What kind of antennas should I be
using for MW and SW?
Should I just forget about the Alinco and stick with my Pro-93 and DX-398?
