ANYONE HAVING PRO-90 TRACKER PROBLEMS??

Post by Doug Bens » Tue, 07 Jul 1998 04:00:00

I've had my Pro-90 for about a month now. Actually the speaker on the
first one stopped working after about 2 weeks. The local RS gave me a
new one. I haven't had the problems you are describing. The only time
my Pro-90 has trouble tracking in trunk mode is when I am about 20
miles away from the transmiter.

The Canadian Pro-90 manual states that the squelch setting may affect
trunk-tracking functionality. The manual first says the setting is
automatic, then suggests that one manually set the squelch before selecting
a trunked bank.

It notes that "Your scanner's squelch setting is automatically adjusted...
However, the squelch setting can affect how fast you scanner acquires the
data chane, ... and ... can prevent your scanner from acquiring the data
channel at all."

The Canadian manual recommends setting the squelch control such that the
marking in the knob is in the 12 o'clock position (front of scanner facing
you) before selecting a trunked bank
