Group,
     Just wondering why I sometimes pick up phone conversations within
the aviation band (108-135).

Sometimes there are bleedovers and there are also radio systems that
incorporate phone patches around the 120 MHz range.

Also: airphones, pilots on phone patches.

I missed the original posting, but air to ground telephone (AGT) service
is contiguous with the cellular frequency spectrum.
Cell site transmitters use 869 MHz to 894 MHz.
So look at 894 MHz to 896 MHz or so.  (I don't remember the exact
end of the passband.)
