Why not 20 banks of 50 instead of 10 banks of 100?

Why not 20 banks of 50 instead of 10 banks of 100?

Post by Dustbunn » Sun, 16 Feb 2003 11:55:59

I have a BC250D and it seems to me there would be some benefit in
being able to enter more than 10 trunking systems. But like most
scanners, this one has lots of slots for ID's, but can only handle 1
trunk per bank. Is there any way around this limitation? How come the
vendors don't split their memory differently?

Any tips or insights welcomed.

Why should I be forced to use 2 radios? What good is 1000 slots if
many can't be used due to the 1 trunk/bank? It's just bad engineering.

All they need is a +10 option, it's done all the time.

That's assuming they do it at once. I usually only monitor one or two at a
time but travel pretty frequently around my state and California also. Being
able to stuff all that into one scanner program would be great, and if the
250D had an option to go to 20x50 that would be perfect!

Not necessarily. I'd be fine with an A or B option in the menu that would
scan banks 1-10 or 11-20 exclusively. Another setting could let the user
decide if they want 2 10x50 layouts or one 10x100 layout. No extra buttons
required - just updated firmware.

How bout it Uniden? for the 96K model! pleeeeeeeze???? ;-)

I agree- plus it would also let you segregate agencies with more
flexibility.
