I would like to get a copy of The Ultimate Scanner Book (latest copy) but the
local bookstores don't have it. Anyplace I can call directly?

Actually, any major bookstore (Crown, Walden, Bookstar. etc) will have it.
But you may call Index Publishing's order line at 800-546-6707 and the
(extraordinary) book will be sent the same day.

It is extraodinary all right. I bought one and was *very* disappointed.
Lots of generalities and very little substance. Save your money.

Yesterday I purchased the last copy of Bill Cheek's book at Powell's
Technical Books in NW Portland. I think they will send books if you
request a copy.

This book store is very large and has an excellent reputation.

or try their other downtown store: (503)228-4651

I am sure they would send you a copy of that book if you have a credit
card ready...

If you can't find it there, try a store that I have purchased several
things from with excellent results. Try The Radio Place in Sacramento,
CA, I could bet money on the fact that they would carry this book.

I ordered one from Waldenbooks and the clerk said it was $19.95 when I
ordered. The computer printed order form also said $19.95. The book
scanned in at $29.95. The clerk said the price must have gone up and it is
now $29.95. I asked for the manager who told the clerk, 'mark it down to
$19.95'. Thanks to a previous poster for the tip.
