Radio Shack AM-VHF Radio

Hello,

I just recently became interested in scanners.

Anyway, I went down to Radio Shack and bought a CHEESEY little home-made
AM-VHF Radio with the cardboard mainboard and little spring interface
things.  I was just wondering if anyone out there has been able to do
anything cool with it.  Are there any simple mods for it or is there
anyone who has done something amazing with one??  If so, please lemmie
know..

...sorry to all those who would rather not have read this email...

If you're thinking along the lines of mods for cellular, the answer is a
definite no.  The circuitry on this thing is not capable of receiving
anywhere near 800Mhz, it probably only goes up to the 100's.  Removing a
diode is likely to render the unit inoperable.
