Syracuse NY PD on 800MHz ?????

Post by Watn » Thu, 07 Oct 1999 04:00:00

Two days ago I was in Syracuse and saw that car 672 had both a UHF and an
800MHz antenna. Not a cell phone antenna, mind you, but an 800MHz mounted on
the trunk.

Anyone know the freqs of the system or any other info ???

Thanks for the reply -- but that was a permanent mount 800MHz antenna in/on the
trunk of car 672.

An FCC data dump is not usually helpful in these situations, especially when
there are old frequencies still licensed that are no longer in use.

How do you know that is was not a cell phone antenna?

*** Because USUALLY they don't go to the extreme of getting the more expensive
hole-mounted antenna and coax and connectors. USUALLY PD's just get the glass
mount type.
