Where can I get a list of AMTRAK frequencies?
Also, what frequencies are in use on the Manhattan subway?
Thanks,
David Maddison

Hi David,Quote:>Also, what frequencies are in use on the Manhattan subway?

I have the AMTRAK freqs in a book that I will look up later this
evening. AS for the NY Subway, try these--depending on the division of
the subway you are riding on.
IRT (numbered lines and the GC-Times Square shuttle) 161.19
IND (some lettered lines) 161.565
BMT (other lettered lines) 161.505
These are repeater output frequencies and can be received easily
underground. All use PL of 127.3
Yard (Simplex) operations 160.845 (either PL 127.3 or Carrier Squelch)
This is often used crew-to-crew as well as for yard movements.
Signals and Communications crews use 156.105, no PL
Note: These are NOT just Manhattan frequencies. They are in use in all
boroughs. My book (URL in the .sig) details what frequencies are used
over which portions of track. I also have a bit on radio terminology (NY
Subway comms are VERY obscure to newcomers) as well.
