Trunk Tracking on WinRadio or ICOM PCR-1000?

Trunk Tracking on WinRadio or ICOM PCR-1000?

Post by Tom Greenl » Wed, 14 Jan 1998 04:00:00

Scanner Gang,

I have been searching this newsgroup via dejanews for an answer. So far I
have not found one, or it has not yet been asked. Do either of the "Computer
Scanners" WinRadio or Icom PCR-1000 have the capability to "trunk track"?  I
like both of these radios but cant see buying one without this feature.
Especially with most public service frequencys moving to the trunk system.
Would this be a feature that could be added with a software upgrade or would
is additional hardware/circuitry be needed?  If trunk tracking is not
available on these radios Ill stick with my old reliable PRO-2006 / CE-232
until it is.

Thanks,
Happy Scanning
Tom Greenli

PS I'll keep my PRO-2006 / CE232 until one of us dies.

If memory serves me, there is a discriminator tap on the back of the
PCR1000; hook up a data slicer and run trunker-I'll bet it'll work...

Trunk Tracking on WinRadio or ICOM PCR-1000?

I sent an email to WINRadio and they said they are looking into it,
but that it does not do it yet.

On the PCR-1000, Atlantic Radio, who I emailed also, said no it does
not.
