Considering The Bearcat BC250D Digital Scanner....

Greets all,

I was wondering if anyone has checked out or had any up close experience with the
recent Bearcat BC250D digital scanner. I was checking out a few web pages, reading up
on that specs and it sounds promising!  I'm considering adding it to my existing
fleet of HRs, a pro-37, AR8200M3 and pro-94 trunking. Has anyone bought/used the
250D? And also, if so, is anyone aware of any specific mods for this HR which may
make it more "susceptible" to extra frequencies? Any help much appreciated.

I don't know what goes on in your house in Taos Canyon, but I resent
your continuing use of language about women.  It certainly has nothing
to do with radios.  gill

I must echo Gill's response.

Has it ever occurred to you that young people may be searching these
newsgroups for information relative to the hobby?  Would you like to see
your children exposed to the kind of drivel you post as your signature?

Grow up and try to remember that this group is open to everyone, not all of
whom appreciate your morals or lack thereof.

I have one and love it. Best scanner I own. (also the most expensive!)

As for modding it, well it cost too much for me to void the warranty by
trying, but my gut reaction would be to say no, you can't mod it to receive
the "extra" frequencies everyone asks for.

If anyone does attempt it, I'm sure there would be far more interest in a
mod that opens up 700MHz than anything else.....
