Red Wave Radio

My pro46 has a problem with the low battery beep starting way to early.
Driving me nuts. Talked to others with same problem, but no ideas how to fix.
Ready to take drastic measures (really driving me nuts).

Does anybody:

A) Have a schematic so I can hack it (willing to pay reasonable duplication
and postage expense)?

B) Have a better idea to save the thing from a frustrated EE with a soldering
iron?

Thanks in advance

Could this be caused by nicads that have reached the end of their useful
life?  Just an idea...
