No more anonymous posts from Deja.com

As most of you know by now, Deja.com has been sold and the name changed to
Google.

Notice that, as currently structured under Google, the new system does not
allow postiing...only retrieving of previously-archived messages.

Me thinks someone got smart and realized the huge potential legal liability of
all the libelous and defamatory content which has been posted anonymously from
deja.com.

Much of this crapola has been posted in the radio newsgroups over the past few
years.  Good riddance!

And so far it sucks. Nothing like the old search engine design that Deja
had. Too bad, Google is great for speed when it comes to searching the
Web but it looks like they may have f****d up the newgroup searches.

Did you actually read the site?  They're still in the process of
developing the system.  Give them some time before you start ***ing
and whining.  At least you don't have to load a ton of banner ads when
you load the site.

Quote:>Did you actually read the site?

Yes I did*** wad.

Quote:>They're still in the process of developing the system.

They tell you that at the start: "Search Newsgroups (Beta)". Nice of
YOU to assume I may have missed that.

Quote:>Give them some time before you start ***ing and whining.

WHO THE *** are U? Ruler supreme who tells people what they can think,
and do? If I feel like commenting about Google so be it, it wasn't a
*** and whining thing, it was a comment as I see things. Don't ever
tell someone that you know best for them. If enough people didn't like
their site that much and emailed them now, while they're in the process
of setting up their site it might actually cause them to rethink the way
they had set things up and make changes to the site.

For now, give them a while to start recouping the money they spent
buying Deja. If you don't want tons of banner ads use an ad killer or
http://www.redwaveradio.com/
unfortunately their news groups search is through Google

Google works pretty well with lynx, but not the news groups, think it has
that "java script junk in there.

What a great sentiment.  Glad I won't be in your shoes, come Judgement Day.

Don't point your judgemental finger at me, little man. If I go to hell then you will end up being my toilet paper in hell.
