Go to Radioshack.com and search for 2000163 and 2000164. It will bring you
to a page for some kind of software download for the new trunktracking
scanners. Pics of scanners are not posted yet. I am a store manager and was
able to order 2000163. It retails for 219.99 ..... Dont even know what it is
yet ?

Hey Andy; I am scanning a Motorola Analog Smartnet system using a
Spectra mobile. I know that in just a few months the rebanding will
render my Spectra obsolete. What model RS base station scanners will be
capable of the new NPSPAC channel allotments either by software upgrade
or newly compatible. Also, do the trunk trackers listen to the 3600 baud
control channel or do they just scan the trunks looking at lowspeed data?

Didn't Radio Shack go out of business a few years ago? (I think they
changed the name to Circut City.)

HUH? Radio Shack is still in business - albeit some stores "have" closed
around here. So far as "I" have ever known - they are two entirely different
chains.

Radio Shack sold it's Inter-Tan division to Circuit City. Inter-Tan
operated all RS stores here in Canada [and I believe the rest of the
world..but I'm not sure]. But Radio Shack sued Circuit City to stop
them from using the Radio Shack name outside of the United States. The
stores are now known as "The Source by Circuit City".

Well - I'll be damned - never heard a thing about "that". DAMNED. OK - so
now I'm wondering about the story I heard of that "Circuit City" isn't doing
so well and Radio Shack "supposedly" wants to make a come back, etc. What a
wonderful "whacky" world - we live in. The way I look at it - probably both
of them should just disappear.
