WinScan delayed release - A blessing in disguise.

WinScan delayed release - A blessing in disguise.

Hey gang!

I would just like to take this chance to thank everybody for the response
and feedback we have received on WinScan. Because of our delay with
replication, we released a shareware version. Because of the shareware
version, we found some previously undiscovered errors in the program (things
we may have missed or our beta testers may have missed). Because of you,
WinScan is a solid program. We will be posting an updated shareware release
tonight on our site (sometime after 8:00 pm MST)and the program is on target
(with the changes) for a release on Monday. We will keep you all posted on
the progress and developments as they occur.

Once again, thank you all for your support and feedback.

Warmest Regards,

Adam Goldman

Hi there, thanks for the Trial Version, I have already ordered your
software and can't wait to get the official release version.

While going through the software I found a couple things in which I
think need some work. or tweeking.  (some of these may be the bugs you
made mention to in your posting)

1) I would like the ability to cut and paste frequencies from a
website into your program.  (Ie highlight a frequency on a website
copy it to the clipboard, click on the channel bank I want it to go
into and be able to Control-V Pate it into Winscan.  This will
eliminate a lot of typos I can see myself making.

2) When exiting the program the Speed Enhancement feature reverts to
the off position.  I would like that to revert back to the position of
ON when I restart the program.

3) In tunking mode, the Alpha tags are sometimes displayed and
sometimes not displayed.  All my Talkgroups are programmed with Alpha
tags.  So in my main police Talkgroup the ID of 240 is Diplayed with
no Alpha tags, but then the next transmision also on the same 240
talkgroup will say on the screen "Police Department Main Dispatch"
This happens in both the main view window and the quickview screen.

5) The Ability to Merge 2 APF or Frequinecy lists together.  And by
this I mean lets say I have a freind who has his radio programmed for
the Hartford Police in his bank 1 through 30, I want to be able to
take his file and add his freqs to mine, however my banks 1-30 are
used and would want to import his data but have it appear in my banks
31 - 60. This leaving my already programmed banks 1 - 30 alone.

And finally this one does not have anything to do with your software,
but the thing I would love to be able to  is be able to broadcast my
scanner audio over the internet with something like Shoutcast but I
would like to do it so that the Frequency you are hearing the Alpha
tag is being shown to the listener. (So they know what they are
hearing)  That would be the ultimate, Imagine many scanner listeners
like me being able to listen to their local town no matter where they
are in the world.

Thanks for the great program, after I play with it more if I find
anything else unusual I will let you know.
