Hmm.. Interesting story about he non-transmitting scanner.  Definately wasn't
at the one I work at part-time.

It's scarry to think that a tech would seriously do this, I hope he was being
sarcastic while trying to get the store's attention.

Unless otherwise stated, expressed view are my own.  They may not be the
opinions of my superiors, the U.S. Navy, the DoD, nor the U.S. government.

A non-=transmitting= scanner? I missed the earlier parts of this thread,
must've been a good one.. :)

Maybe that's what I'll do when I take in my [near-dead] PRO-44 this week for
the local shack's "Fall-Fixit Sale" [bring in anything even remotely like a
Radio Shack electronic product, they'll fix it for a set price agreed on by you
and the manager, plus $10].. "Yeah, this scanner doesn't transmit anymore.."

Actually, it doesn't receive worth a damn, either.. cracked circuit board. I
don't think a set-price plus $10 in parts is gonna save this thing. Luckily, my
birthday is in a week and PRO-43s are on sale for "only" $350 or so. [Regular
price in Canuckbucks is $480.] :)

Why plus $10?  Is that the VAT at work?
Does US RS have such gala extravaganzas?
