10Kohm 1/8w resistor, 0.1 uf capacitor
Locate D33 on the linear PCB. Solder in the 10K resistor to the ANODE
of this diode. Note this is not the same as TP2. Connect a wire from
the free end of this resistor to a rear panel jack (RCA). Solder the
0.1uf capacitor from the jack's center terminal to ground. Output on
this jack follows the AGC voltage. Negative for no signal, goes
positive when a signal is present, increasing with signal strength. A
1Volt full scale panel meter makes a good "S" meter
has anyone tried to do this particular mod to the 2006?I am curious as
to if it worked and how well. The mod says to hook the resistor up to
the RCA jack but where,in the center or on the lug that's off to the
side.that comes off the jack?am wondering if the 9 volt battery ground
would be sufficient,I tried it myself but I get a steady signal on the
meter and sometimes it goes up when it "hits" but the stronger signals
go backwards??if that ground is wrong can anyone tell me where would
be the best place to ground the capacitor? also it states D33 is not
the same as TP2,is D33 actually on the bottom of the pc board or ??any
help appreciated from an "expert" that has done this mod to thier own
2006!!
Thanks in Advance,Tom
