Help - i am buying a new scanner

Post by Nic » Tue, 22 Aug 1995 04:00:00

Right now I have a Radio Shack PRO-57 Scanner and the thing is basically
a piece of crap... I can't get anything on it.  So... I'm looking to buy
a new scanner and I need suggestions...  I'm not willing to pay very much
cash, but I just want something that will cover 1-2 miles (and if
possible cover cell/cordless frequencies [yeah right]).  What should I be
looking for? :)

Hi,

If I was you I would consider a second hand one and I know that the
Realistic range starts quiet basic.

If you need anymore information I more than happy to help

Any scanner should be able to cover 10-30 miles radius. The biggest
problem initially is getting the frequencies for your area. Trying to
scan isn't much good usually, since you won't know what you are listening
to if you do find something.

If you want cell/cordless on a scanner get a older PRO-34/39/43.
Or tabletop PRO-2022/32/06.
