winradio 1550e speaker jack and data jack

I have a winradio WR-1550e (external version), which so far I have
used as is. I am wondering if the speaker jack can somehow be
connected to the input on my computer sound card. Also, what is the
data jack used for? The manual does not address either of these.

Yes, I have the same receiver. I have connected the speaker output to
the Line input of my sound card and it works very well. It is
important to use a standard stereo jack (any standard PC multimedia
cable will do nicely).

This is FM discriminator output. It is used for receiving data
transmissions on FMN. This also connects to the sound card.
You can use third party decoding software, or Winradio own
software such as the Digital Suite which I have. So you can receive
Weather Fax, various FSK modes, pagers, etc.
