I am having trouble getting my FT-100-D Yaesu & A MFJ 1270C
working on 9600 baud packet.  I have tried everything  I can think of..
A Kenwood  TH 733  works very well connected to the same TNC.
The Yaesu works very will on 1200 & 300 baud.     I am using the
Yaesu CT-39 packet cable Hooked up like this

DATA JACK PIN
YAESU                                     MFJ-1270C
1  TX AUDIO                            1   MIC.AUDIO
2   DATA GROUND                 2   GROUND
3   PTT                                       3    PTT
4   RX DATA 9600                   4    RECEIVE AUDIO
5                                                        NO CONNECTION
6                                                        NO CONNECTION
HEAVY BLACK   GROUND TO SHIELD  ( I HAVE TRIED IT
OPEN ALSO WITH NO  RESULTS)

It receives the connect msg from another 9600 baud station but can not
transmit a readable response in return.   I dont have a deviation meter
but the transmitted signals sound almost exactly alike.

My Settings are

15KC FM

MENU
28  AFSK LEVEL              8  (best sounding packet, but I have tried
everything  from 0 to 100)
33  FM DEV                       5
34  AFSK MODE               PCK- F
37  PACKET RATE           9600
ALL REST ARE ON DEFAULT SETTING

Is there anyone that has a FT-100-D that has had the same problem & was
able to work it out.
