Selling Equipment in NG's Other Than rec.radio.swap

Selling Equipment in NG's Other Than rec.radio.swap

It could be that such ads stand out here . . .
It could also be that there aren't 5000 ads for Sabers, Astro whatevers and
Master IIs here.
Thus, hams may prefer this newsgroup over r.r.s. I know that lots of hams use
GMRS gear but there is more to ham radio than FM . . .

However, this group is SUPPOSED to be for the discussion of amateur radio
equipment and not for commerce in same. It is as simple as that.

Regards,

Bill

Selling Equipment in NG's Other Than rec.radio.swap

Bill and the group,
I concur that a lot of equipment is sold in this NG, even though the
FAQs say this practice is discouraged.  A couple of years ago I looked
into the art of buying and selling amateur radio equipment using the
Internet.  A whole web page grew out of that effort.  I now have a
subpage (Online Swaps) from my QSL.NET page (in sig file below) that
lists sites, NGs, and a reflector that can be used for this purpose.  I'm
even planning on adding a section dedicated to on-air swaps.  That should
be ready in a month or so (?).
Hope this information comes in handy sometime in the future.

Selling Equipment in NG's Other Than rec.radio.swap

This just illustrates that the old adage that crime doesn't pay is incorrect.
It often does pay. But it is still wrong.
