I can't get mine to even receive data for the Template. Typical errors
are "Bad Receive Data" and Timeout errors. I have no problem with the
FT-41R usinf the same cable., etc

This may be a dumb question, but you are using the adaptor cable made
for the FT-50 and VX-1R, not just the same plug used on the FT-41R,
right?
