Software for Icom's IC-R8500?

Anyone using Icom's software for the IC-R8500 communications receiver?  I'd
like to hear from you, your likes, and dislikes.  Also, what are the third
party options available?

Thanks,

Software for Icom's IC-R8500?

Bill

I have the ICOM IC-R8500 receiver and the ICOM software package to
control it.

Having used a different ICOM software package to control a PCR-1000
previously, my expectations were not very high before I purchased
the R8500 package.

I was pleasantly surprised!  This package works very well!
I'm using it on two different computers, one is a notebook and
one a desktop. Both computers are infested with Windoze 98, and
the ICOM software has operated perfectly for me.

My only complaint is that I'm forced to use Windoze to use the package.
I'd be delighted if there was a Linux package to operate this radio.

I hope this helps!
