I have an HTX-202 HT and was wondering if it's O.K. to leave on the
battery pack while using the AC-DC plug-in power supply. This is cat #
273-1653a. I have been taking the battery pack off when using it. I
imagine it shouldn't hurt anything but I want to check with more
experienced users. Thanks for all replies!

I just sold my HTX-202 but what I did was put on the drycell
pack empty. That way the contacts on the radio are protected
and the battery does not get over charged. It only takes a
second to change the packs. seemed the best way to me 73 de Jerry

I have had my HTX-202 for about two years now. I have always left the
battery pack on while running on external power. No adverse effects to
report. I did read 13.8v across the terminals. Shouldn't D5 prevent this?

That should have been D4 & *D5*, not D3. It was late, I was tired,
and all the other excuses that go along with that...

Vince: I checked the voltage on mine at the ball that connects
to the battery pack: 11.68 V (I'm using a 12V power supply NOT 13.8).
Does that mean we have blown D5 and will charge NiCd packs?
