I'm looking to purchase either the Alinco DX-70th or
the Icom IC-706 in the next week or so and am looking for advise as to
which is the better purchase. I'm looking for a radio which is
portable and will be use primarily on HF with some use on 6 meters,
while the 2 meters included in the Icom is nice it's not a big selling
point to me. I'd like to know what other owners and or operators of
these two rigs think of them and how they compare on the HF bands with
other HF only portables like the Yaesu -Ft- 900 or the Kenwood TS-50 .
Any comments or hekp in making 5this decision will be greatly
appreciated.

I have an Alinco DX-70T (early version-10w on 6m). It is mounted in my
mobile.
It is a wonderful radio. The RX is great and the TX audio is GREAT.
I would highly recommend it.
