Red Wave Radio

I just purchased a new IC-2710 at a local hamfest.  I'd appreciate
feedback from anyone on:

1.  Your feelings about the rig pro/con
2.  Installation as a mobile--did you buy the optional cable, how does
that work out, what antennas have you used, etc.
3.  Are there any mods to open up the 440 band for police/fire scanner
freqs, and would doing so bring too much intermod into the rig on ham
bands?
