My husband passed away recently and now I have some ham radio that I need to
sell. Since I am not knowledgeable about the equipment, does anyone know of
someone in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area who takes equipment on consignment and
treats fairly? Thanks for any information anyone can provide.

Hi Teresa...You might want to call the W5YI group in Dallas, 817-461-6443
and see if they can recommend someone trustworthy. Be careful who you deal
with as there are many dishonest hams in the world.

Good Luck,

Ted, WH6MC, Oceanside, CA.

I will second Ted's suggestion, with the addition of the word 'VERY' before
the dishonest hams.
Perhaps get in touch with one of his ham friends.

Teresa, if you will email me what the equipment is that you have for
sale I will be glad to help you get an honest dollar amount for what
you have. I, along with several others on the rec.radio.swap pages do
lots of buying selling and trading, and can give you some Idea what
your equipment is worth. I have always made it a policy not to get
involved in estate sales because there will always be hams that say
you are selling the equipment too high, or selling too low.
I also have the email addresses of some hams in Texas that will help
you also.
I will not buy any of your equipment but will be happy to assist you
any way I can to get you a fair price on your equipment.
