How to get a job in radio, Humor from KITS San Francisco

: Some humor I heard on KITS (a promotion for the band that has the song "Loser":
: "Are you a loser?  Take this test:

: - Has it been more than two years since you got laid last?
: - Do you think a report card with all D's is good?
: - Are you considering a career in radio?

: If you answered "YES", you qualify as a loser!  First loser to call in gets
: concert tickets!

: "Duh, I'm a radio announcer"

KITS is a *wonderfully* creative station.  It's sharp, funny, and
interesting to listen to.  Most modern rock stations tend to be somewhat
dull aside from the music they play (KPNT St. Louis is an exception,
fortunately).  But KITS is consistently bizarre and ironic.

: --This is the same station that tends to play songs with the "f" word in them.
: I considered calling their request line and saying "Hi, I'm from the FCC,
: think you should avoid playing those songs with dirty words, OK?"

*Please* don't do that!  I wouldn't want to scare them.  We need more KITSs
out there, fricatives and all.

And, it should be noted, KITS does *not* usually use scatalogical/locker
room humor to shock.  The "f" word is an integral part of Radiohead's
"Creep."  Fortunately, you can buy the CD and hear the version most radio
stations won't play.

KITS is one of the best radio stations *ever*.  Too bad it's
two-thousand-plus miles away from where I live....

Actually, I was surprised that their version of "Add it Up" by the ***
Femmes, now has "Why can't I get, just one KCUF," (REVERSED TAPE)
Their owned by lawyers, may7be their getting a little nervous.

The discussion last year centered on Radiohead's "Creep," where "***ing"
is used as an intensifying adjective with no *** content otherwise.  The
*** Femme's use of the word does contain *** content.  Maybe that
is why they sort-of bleeped it.  (Except, KITS being KITS, they *would*
just do it slightly differently.)
