I am new to shortwave, and we will be using a Realistic (Radio
Shack) DX-200 that we got at a garage sale; can anyone suggest
from their knowledge or experience, ways of improving the
reception? The manual suggests that the antenna may be very
important...what type wire works best, and how would I ground
it? (Don't want to fry the radio if lightning strikes!)(or myself).
Any suggestions are appreciated;
BTW, is there a FAQ? Thanks.

What is the difference between a communication receiver and a regular
