Army antenna tuning unit

I just puchased on Ebay a beautiful mint condition General Electric US Army
signal corps antenna tuning unit. The question I have for this group is
this. Being relatively new to antenna setups and antiques like this, I was
wondering,
On the top where you hook up the wiring, it says Ant. and below it says
Trans. and then  Gnd. Is the Trans. where I would lead in to my receiver?
And where is the best place to put the Gnd. wire?
THX in advance

ANT means antenna, TRANS is where the output of the transmitter is connected
GRND is where the ground gets connected. Unless you want to use the antenna
for both transmitting and receiving, you don't need to do anything with the
TRANS connection. So connect the antenna to the ANT terminal. Hope that
helps. Happy DXing :)

And be aware that, if it is an automatic tuner,  it will do nothing. It is a
transmitting tuner. It needs a transmitted signal to tune. It will do
nothing for receive.
