WTB: 2mtr SSB receiver

I'm in dire need of a side band rig that will receive between 144.15-144.25.
I don't really need anything fancy- an old rig will do just fine.  If
anybody has ANYTHING at all they could part with, please contact me via
E-mail.

You're not likely to find a 2M SSB receiver, only a transceiver.

Since this is the Shortwave newsgroup, you undoubtedly have a shortwave
receiver.  Thus you might want to do this the way it used to be done,
by putting a converter ahead of your amateur only hf rig or a general
coverage shortwave receiver.  I don't know if anyone still makes
receive only converters, but there must be plenty still around that
you can find at hamfests.

Or look in an older ARRL Handbook for a schematic for one, and build it.

If you have a RS PRO 2004, 2005, or 2006 scanner you can tap off the 455kH IF
and feed that to the antenna input of any shortwave reciever that is capable of
SSB.

It works!  It will probably work with most other scanners.  Check out some of
the scanner sites for mods and you might find what you need.
