Please help identify these interval signals...

Post by James P. Smit » Mon, 23 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Dear NewsGroup Folks,

I've put 18 Real-Audio clips of unidentified interval
signals on my web page:

   http://www.ns.net/~jpsmith/jimweb/shortwave.html

Please help me identify them!

I pulled these off of some very old tapes, recorded over
the prior two sunspot cycles.

Email me with the identity of any of these and I'll update
the web page to give you credit!

I'd also appreciate email to let me know of other sites
that have shortwave audio clips, preferrably identified :)

Thanks,
Jim.

Ok, Jim, I'll take a stab at some of these:

#14.  YLE R. Finland
#15.  R. Station Peace and Progress (USSR)
#16.  R. Sofia (Bulgaria)
#17.  R. Exterior de Espana
#22.  Trans World Radio (location unknown)
#23.  Mayak (USSR Home Service)
#26.  R. Berlin International
#27.  R. Norway

Very interesting site, Jim.  Thanks for the opportunity.  I enjoyed
listening to all of these.  Unfortunately, I can't identify any more
than these at the moment.

I'll check your site later on, James, but sofar I can tell you that I have a
site with IDENTIFIED interval signals and identifications from all over the
world... I just started this site, and at this moment there are just above
110 audioclips, but their number is increasing little by little. Just go to
my "crosswinds"-account (see in my signature). I must warn you though, it is
a very slow site in loading the bits, but I didn't have much choice, this is
the only server that would allow me enough space to realize what I want to.
I am looking for another faster one, and will let it know in this NG as soon
as known, but sofar you can at least see (the page itself) what I have
got... there are new and "historical" audioclips (in RealAudio)
Will revert to the IDs from your site later.
73's
Frank
