Select-A-Tenna vs RadioShack Loop

Hello

Has anyone compared the performance of the S-A-T vs the RS Loop.  Any inof
would be appreciated.  Comments regarding similiar antennas would also be
helpful.

I've had both loops.  The SAT is a bit more sensitive because it has a larger
diameter, but it is also twice as expensive.  The signal difference, however,
is so small that it isn't worth it.  I like the RS loop because it is not so
obnoxious looking and you can carry it easier.  Plus you have 30 days to try it
out!

Um,m,m,m - actually for a dedicated AM DXer, it might well be worth the
extra$$$.

[chuckle] Agreed, especially the better looking part.

A very nice addition.

I have the Select-A-Tenna (Model M - has hardwire availability) and it's
quite nice.

But ? for REALLY doing it right - I'd give Ed at
<http://www.torustuner.com/>
a yell and see what he says and check out his loops (I have a TorusTuner but
it's for 3MHz-13MHz so don't have any hands-on experience with his AM (MW)
loops).

Can someone tell me the model number of the radioshack loop?  I'd like
to take a look at it on their website.  Thanks!

I agree with Frank. I have or should say "had" both of these loops. For the
price compared to the difference in what you're trying to obtain with a loop
signal wise, to me....it wasn't worth it.

I sent back the SAT, I have 3 loops from Radio Shack that will suffice till I
drop some jack on one of the truly better loops. :-)

Thanks Jim - much appreciated.  How does this compare to the Sony AN-LP1?

Apples and oranges. The Sony AN-Lp1 is for shortwave only, and the RS AM loop
is for mediumwave only. They don't cover the same frequencies.
